"Snook -The Hunt" Resin Inlay Artwork

This is a completely unique and one-of-a-kind art piece for sport fishing lovers everywhere! “Snook - The Hunt” is 100% resin inlay on genuine African Mahogany hardwood! It took just over two weeks to create.

You can hear the 'pop' of the mouth of the snook as it hunts bait fish in the Mahogany wood red mangroves and the sea foam green resin watery landscape.

Resin Inlay is a time-consuming process in which each shade of color you see in the piece has been carved, then poured with hand-mixed & tinted resin. It must dry and harden a minimum of 24 hours before the next section of the piece, often right up against that section, can be carved and the process is repeated over and over.  This does not include the creation of the artwork itself, design, creating separate precision files for each individual cut, preparation of the African Mahogany wood base prior to starting the resin inlay, or the sanding and finishing of the piece after all of the resin pours.

This cool Ravenwolf Art Studio exclusive piece was a collaboration between Deidre & Randy and they are very excited about the final product! There is nothing else like it in the world!

A Snook fish turns towards the baitfish in the background amongst the red mangrove roots in the estuary backwaters.

This piece measures nearly 12” wide x 15 1/2” high by nearly 1 1/2” thick. It has a keyhole for ease of hanging. Because of all the layers of resin and the 2 layers of wood, it is heavy, weighing in at nearly 5 pounds!
