Wolf of the Purple Mountains Resin Inlay Artwork

Completely unique and one-of-a-kind art piece! “Wolf of the Purple Mountains” is 100% resin inlay! It took just under a month and over a full gallon of Art Resin to create.

You can hear the lone wolf howling at the blue moon in this resin mountain landscape of shades of purple and violet with a pale pink sky.

Resin Inlay is a time-consuming process in which each shade of color you see in the piece has been carved, then poured with hand-mixed & tinted resin. It must dry and harden a minimum of 24 hours before the next section of the piece, often right up against that section, can be carved and the process is repeated over and over.  This does not include the creation of the artwork design, creating separate precision files for each individual cut, preparation of the wood base prior to starting the resin inlay, or the sanding and finishing of the piece after all of the pours.

This cool Ravenwolf Art Studio exclusive piece was a collaboration between Deidre & Randy and they are very proud of the final product! There is nothing else like it in the world!

This piece measures nearly 20” x 23” at 22 1/2” high by 19 3/4” wide by 3/4” thick. It has two keyholes for ease of hanging. Because of all the layers of resin, it is heavy, weighing in at nearly 7 1/2 pounds!
