Show strength of spirit and the circle of life with these Lakota Star Oval Earrings.

An oval hoop features the Lakota Star on this carved wood design by Randy of Ravenwolf Art Studio.

Lakota people had regionally based beliefs called Star Knowledge. One of these stories tells how the stars give a spirit to a Lakota person at birth. When they die, that spirit returns to the sky and travels though the Milky Way. In Lakota, you hear the phrase "mitakuye oyasin", which means all my relatives, all my relations. A lot of times, we westerners think of that meaning all my cousins, aunts, and uncles, and we think of humans; however, when Lakota's say this, it means all of the plants, animals, & all other people are star dust and therefore all related; Mitakuye oyasin, we're all related.

Earrings are carved from Basswood and measure approximately 2 1/2" long from top of French hook (hypo-allergenic plated silver) to bottom of oval, by 1" wide, by 3mm thick and are very lightweight and comfortable to wear.

These would make a great gift for a loved one, family member, best friend, or new mother! Unisex design.
